During my time at SCAD I was involved with AIAs - Freedom by Design. Freedom by Design is AIAs's community service branch for students to help improve their communities with resourceful and impactful design. My senior year we had the phenomenal opportunity to work with Hilton Head Elementary School for the Creative Arts to design and build a greenhouse. The schools STEAM program used the courtyard to grow a garden and wanted to utilize more of the space for the students. We worked with Re:Purpose Savannah who demo's homes and saves useable materials. Most of all the materials for the greenhouse were donated and were once in a historic home of Savannah, GA.
