DRAFTING WORK

This is a custom home designed by Woodley Architectural Group Inc. Tiny Studio Drafting drew the floor plan, elevations, and roof plan in AutoCAD. Once the AutoCAD was approved by the architect, Photoshop was used to render and show materials, shadows, and depth.

This project had 3 plans, 3 elevation styles, and enhancements for necessary lots. I began with the construction documents in AutoCAD and XREF'd the files with only the required layers to create design documents for the renders. The renders were done in Photoshop.

 

Each plan and elevation style had individual floor plans showing the different materials, pop-outs, windows etc.

Shown are all the front elevations, "Plan One"'s: A-floor plan, A-wraps, and the right and left enhancements for all elevation styles.

The builders wanted a better idea of what the main street for their development would look like and wanted accurate topography.

​

Using the civil engineers AutoCAD, I was able to show the topography, streets, and precise building locations in SketchUp.

​

The townhome buildings shared the same unit plans so I duplicated, mirrored, and combined the individual units to create each townhome. Then edited to show the different pop-outs, window location, and roofs for A and B elevations.

Tiny Studio Drafting is available for large scale projects with multiple products.

​

These products were for a massive development that had 5 lot sizes. For the 5 different lot sizes, each had 3-8 plans and 3 elevation styles per plan. There were 27 floor plans, 81 roof plans, and 81 elevations with fronts and wraps.

I use dynamic blocks on all AutoCAD projects for efficiency and accuracy. Throughout my career, I have made a library of dynamic blocks to streamline the drafting process. 

 

This project required unique dynamic blocks in AutoCAD because of the elevation style details. Each style had different roof pitches, fascia details, garage doors, and front doors. By making dynamic blocks for one product, I was able to reuse them for all the plans.
